IFS is Dublin’s leading voice moneybroking company, delivering specialist intermediary broking services to trading professionals in the wholesale financial markets.
IFS covers a very broad range of OTC ( over-the-counter) financial products and services in foreign exchange, interest rates and credit markets.
IFS provides a specialist service by matching up buyers and sellers in the wholesale financial markets. Our customers include financial institutions across many jurisdictions and they pay a commission to IFS on completion of a transaction.

History of IFS
IFS was formed in 2004 when a group of employees of NCB negotiated a Management buyout of the money broking arm of the business.
The shareholders brought with them a wealth of experience of financial markets and management expertise. In the first 18 months of operation the company concentrated on its core business of money broking and is now looking to expand the business using that wealth of experience in these trying financial markets.
The company is authorized under Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID ) by the Financial Regulator.
People
Kevin Gahan - Managing Director
Kevin has being involved in the international money markets since 1986 working for HVB Lux, Astley & Pearce, MMI, Caradas and spent 10 years with NCB Stockbrokers prior to the formation of IFS Brokers. He has an Honours MA in Geography from Trinity College Dublin 1986. He is also a Registered Rep of the Irish Stock Exchange.
Chris O'Shea - Company Secretary
Chris started his career in International Financial markets in 1984 after studying Commerce in UCD.He has worked with Godsell Ireland , Caradas , NCB and was a member of the team that instituted a management buyout of the Money Broking business from NCB Stockbrokers which led to the formation of IFS Brokers in 2004.
Fergal Cornally - Financial Controller
Fergal started his career in the international money markets over 25 years ago with NCB stockbrokers in 1981.With experience, in all the major financial products and markets, Fergal left NCB in 2004 to set up IFS Brokers.
Ian McGonigle - Compliance Officer
Ian worked in Financial Controls with Chase Bank (IRL) for 3 years and then in Treasury for Royal Trust Bank (Channel Islands) in Jersey. Joined NCB Money Brokers in 1983 until 2004. Set up IFS Brokers in Dec 2004.
John Sullivan - Training/Health & Safety
In 1986, John joined Astley and Pearce Moneybrokers in Dublin doing Spot foreign exchange. In 1989, he joined Caradas Currency brokers Dublin dealing Forward FX, Interbank deposits and off balance sheet products. He used his multilingual abilities to develop the International relationship side of the business. In 2007, John joined IFS Brokers as a natural progression from his previous role. John speaks several European languages fluently which is a major asset in these international markets and also has considerable language teaching experience at all levels up to and including 3rd level.
Chris Rees
Studied at University College Cardiff with a BSc(hons) in Maths. Worked AIB Treasury London 1987 to 1989. Tullet and Tokyo London Interest Rate Options and IRS desk 1989-1990. Moved to Dublin May 1990 worked for Davys 1990 to 1997 . Joined NCB worked 1997 til setting up IFS in 2004.
Les Holmes - Sales and Marketing
Les joined IFS Moneybrokers at its inception in late 2004.He has an Honours Business Studies Degree from Trinity College and graduated in 1981.He then began his moneybroking career with NCB Moneybrokers and was employed by them until 2004 when he left to help set up IFS Brokers..
